Description

Vintage 1969 Ben Cooper Tiny Tot “Pussy Cat” Costume ’Jama – No. 167 – Size 3–5

Wonderful and apparently quite scarce late-1960s Ben Cooper Halloween set combining a child’s Halloween costume with warm cotton flannel pajamas.

The original box identifies it as:

COSTUME ’JAMA WITH FUN MASK

Tiny Tot PUSSY CAT – No. 167

Size 3–5

All Cotton Flannel

The colorful pajama/costume features classic Halloween imagery including a large black kitten sitting in a jack-o’-lantern, ghost, crescent moon, stars and additional black kitten graphics. The costume is marked © Ben Cooper Inc. MCMLXIX, dating it to 1969.

Included are the original:

• Cotton flannel Costume ’Jama
• Molded and painted Pussy Cat mask
• Elastic mask strap
• Ben Cooper cardboard box
• Illustrated Pussy Cat window/display insert

The box itself is particularly fun, with the cat-shaped display opening and advertising stating that the washable costume is also a “cuddly warm pajama.”

The costume shows age, wear and areas of discoloration/staining as pictured. The mask retains exceptionally bright period colors and presents very nicely. The original box and display insert show considerable age/storage wear including creasing and tears but remain very displayable.

Please study all photographs carefully. They are an important part of the description and show the actual set being offered.

A great piece for a collection of vintage Halloween, Ben Cooper costumes, antique masks, mid-century children's clothing or 1960s Halloween advertising and packaging.
