6BF6 CBS Diode High-Mu Triode Vacuum Tube NOS - TESTED
This listing is for a vintage CBS 6BF6 twin-section vacuum tube, still in its original box. The 6BF6 is a miniature 7-pin tube that combines a single diode and a high-mu triode within the same envelope. This versatile combination tube was primarily designed for use in the audio stages of radio and television receivers. The diode section is typically utilized for detection (e.g., as an AM detector) and AVC (Automatic Volume Control). The high-mu triode section is excellent for high-gain first audio amplification stages or as a resistance-coupled voltage amplifier. Its dual function made it an economical and space-saving choice in complex circuitry. This New Old Stock (NOS) tube, manufactured by CBS, is a perfect, period-correct component for restoring vintage radios, televisions, or for enthusiasts building classic tube circuits.
