Ultra-compact USB Radio Interface designed for HTs with K1 jacks. Serial data and UART PTT/COS are also supported ensuring the widest possible OS and app compatibility. Functionally equivalent to an AIOC or DigiRig but with better RFI-rejection, more I/Os, comprehensive LED status indicators, and genuine C-Media CM108B USB Audio Controller IC with internal mixer and CD-quality 16-bit DACs and ADC. Measures only 1.1"W x 2.0"L x 0.3"H – about the size of a USB thumb drive.
Fully assembled & tested with all needed cables, plugs into a Mini PC, RPi, or Arduino Uno Q you provide running ASL, HamVOIP, DVswitch, EchoLink, Zello, or other Radio-Over-IP (ROIP), PTT communication, Digital Mode or packet / APRS / data communications app, DigiPi, DireWolf, Fldigi, VARA FM, etc. 100% plug & play with no drivers or firmware downloads/updates needed.
Compared to SHARI/PiHat/SA818 nodes these are easier to set up and have higher audio quality (55+dB SNR) and RF performance when using an FCC-Certified HT for the radio such as a Retevis RT85, Baofeng UV5R Mini or similar HTs, while having none of the disadvantages of SA818 nodes (eg. non-working Squelch Tail Elimination, issues with some PL tones, single-band-only operation, hassle to configure, serial programming scripts required, poor documentation, etc.)
