Amtrak Northeast Regional ACS-64 & Amfleet Wooden Train Set
Experience the glamour, speed, convenience, and occasional unexplained 23-minute delay of America's busiest passenger railroad corridor—all from the comfort of your wooden railway.
This handsome Amtrak Northeast Regional wooden train set includes three pieces: one ACS-64 electric locomotive, one Amfleet Coach, and one Amfleet Cafe/Business car. Accurately modeled after the equipment used on Amtrak's Northeast Regional trains, it's a great addition for young railroad enthusiasts, Amtrak fans, and wooden train collectors who would like to bring a little Washington-to-Boston transportation chaos into the playroom.
Unlike the larger Amtrak starter sets, this set includes the train only—track, station, scenery, disgruntled commuters, and expensive sandwiches are not included. That's actually ideal if you already have a wooden railway layout and simply want to add a realistic Amtrak passenger train to your existing fleet.

Rather than burning diesel fuel, the ACS-64 draws electricity from overhead catenary wires—something your wooden version fortunately does not require, because stringing 25,000 volts over the playroom would probably violate several recommendations for toys intended for ages 3 and up.
Behind the locomotive is an Amfleet Coach, representing the stainless-steel passenger cars that have been a fixture of Amtrak service in the Northeast for decades. Load up your miniature passengers in Washington, squeeze in a few lobbyists and federal employees, pick up some college students in Baltimore, add another small civilization at Philadelphia, and by the time you reach…
