Wonderful antique miniature doll baby carriage / stroller, believed to date from approximately the late 1800s to early 1900s.
This unusual early doll carriage features a slender metal frame with four spoked metal wheels, tall push handle, fabric sling-style seat and back, footrest and matching fabric canopy. One of its particularly interesting features is the folding frame design—the carriage collapses substantially for storage, as shown in the photographs.
This is a fairly large doll carriage, measuring approximately 24 inches long when folded, with additional dimensions shown alongside the ruler in the photographs.
The dark blue upholstery has a small dotted pattern. I do not know whether the fabric is original to the carriage or an older replacement, so it is being sold exactly as found without making a claim regarding originality of the upholstery.
Condition: Antique, used condition with considerable age-related patina, oxidation/rust, finish loss and general wear to the metal frame and wheels. Fabric shows age, wear, fraying and deterioration in areas. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and completeness. No maker’s mark has been identified.
A wonderful display piece with an authentic early appearance. Great for a collection of antique dolls, doll furniture, miniature baby carriages, Victorian/Edwardian toys or early children’s toys.
Estimated age: Circa 1890–1915 Material: Metal/steel frame, metal spoked wheels & fabric upholstery Type: Folding doll carriage / stroller / buggy Sold as pictured.
