📜 Description
A finely modeled late 19th century German hard-paste porcelain centerpiece bowl, attributed to Triebner, Ens & Eckert (Volkstedt), Thuringia, circa 1877–1894.
This Rococo Revival form features applied hand-formed roses, naturalistic foliage, and cherub figures emerging from an asymmetrical scroll bowl with pedestal base. The floral elements are individually assembled, exhibiting extremely thin petal construction, with visible under-glaze hand impressions consistent with period workshop techniques.
The underside bears an underglaze cobalt fork-style mark consistent with documented Triebner, Ens & Eckert Volkstedt marks of the late 19th century, along with impressed and painted model numbers (3953/98). Translucency testing confirms hard-paste porcelain construction.
Volkstedt factories in Thuringia were renowned for finely modeled figural and floral porcelain during this period, and this example reflects that level of craftsmanship.
Attribution is based on mark consistency, construction characteristics, and period modeling techniques.
