Antique Turned Wood Lidded Box Hand Tooled Carved Treen Folk Art Primitive

Unusual antique turned-wood lidded box/container with distinctive concentric hand-tooled decoration.

This small wooden piece appears to have been turned from solid wood and features a removable fitted lid with a central wooden knob. The lid is decorated with a dense radial/concentric pattern, while the underside of the container has an even more extensive basket-weave-like pattern created by intersecting concentric grooves and small tool cuts.

The interior retains prominent concentric turning/tool marks. There are no maker's marks, labels, hinges, screws, or metal hardware that I can find.

The exact age, wood species, country of origin, and original purpose are unknown. It appears consistent with traditional turned woodenware/treen, but no specific attribution is being made.

Shows substantial age and use, including surface wear, scratches, discoloration, patina, small holes/voids, and other imperfections. It has not been cleaned, refinished, or restored and is being offered exactly as found. Please review all photos carefully for condition and construction details.

Approximate dimensions: 4" x 4.5" across x 2.5" high with lid in place.

An unusual piece for collectors of antique treen, primitive woodenware, folk art, early woodturning, or unidentified utilitarian objects.
