You are bidding on an Official Event Program of the award ceremony for the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor awarded to Audie Murphy, Medal of Honor recipient and actor as well as America's 'most decorated soldier of WW2' and an American legend. Murphy later became a major Hollywood box office draw in the 1950's through the 1960's. The Texas Legislative Medal of Honor is a state military medal and is the highest state military medal in the state of Texas.
The program is printed in light tan on light stock paper and measures approx. 5.5 x 8.5 inches. This program is double-sided and has the sequence of events of the front side as well as the State Resolution on the verso which awarded Murphy this honor. It also bears the Seal of the State of Texas at the top of the program.
These programs were of limited availability and passed out to attendees of the ceremony in 2013 in Farmersville, Texas.
The award was presented to Murphy's sole living sibling Nadine in a public ceremony by then Texas Governor Rick Perry. In attendance was also Judge Self, currently a U.S. congressman as well as current Secretary of HUD Scott Turner.
This program is in mint condition.
I was the spearhead of the posthumous effort and have a few of these remaining in my possession.
I have been a collector of Audie Murphy memorabilia for almost 25 years. I am selling some of the extra items from my collection.
For your protection and mine, all items purchased from me are sent with tracking by USPS. I DO NOT send anything without tracking.
Good luck and happy bidding!
