Collectible Historical Memorabilia Hollywood & Military : Dorothy Rae (1940s)

Age of Golden Cinema Collectible Historical Memorabilia Hollywood and Military History: Dorothy Rae (1940s)

Up for auction is a historically significant archive initially purchased from an estate sale tracking the personal life, Hollywood credentials, and patriotic wartime/post-war career of celebrated vocalist Dorothy Rae.

This archive is an extraordinary mid-century time capsule. It seamlessly weaves together a family's World War II journey—beginning with a 1943 V-Mail from military personnel stationed in England with a young girl's rise from a Hollywood child actress into an elite Golden Age headliner.

What makes this lot entirely unique is its absolute completeness. It contains her original 1948 Class A Screen Actors Guild (SAG) cards, AFRA (American Federation of Radio Artists) and AGVA (American Guild of Variety Artists) union credentials, rare mid-century paper hotel cards, original photographs, handwritten lyric/stage script notes, and high-level commendations from a WWII Brigadier General, notable female military leader Eleanor G. Collie, and the historic Perkins School for the Blind (signed by the world-famous Director Dr. Gabriel Farrell). Many of these historical letters retain their original envelopes and rare vintage stamps offering immense value to postal history collectors.
