Czech Art Protis Hana Vepřeková Wall Hanging "Karneval" 1991 Large Signed

A large, vividly dynamic Art Protis wall hanging titled "Karneval" ("Carnival") by Hana Vepřeková, dated 1991 and produced at Ateliers Vlněna 2 in Brno — the original studio where the Art Protis technique was invented, back when pieces were still labeled "Czechoslovakia."

An explosive, gestural composition of red, orange, teal, and midnight blue radiates outward from a dark central knot accented with metallic gold and silver threadwork, evoking fireworks, confetti, or festival energy true to its title.

At 110 x 112 cm (~43 x 44 in), this is a substantial statement piece. Signed and numbered (No. 68303) on the original woven fabric label, with a vintage "Molantin" moth-proofing tag.

A rare, early-production example of a historically significant Czech fiber-art movement, ideal for a mid-century modern or eclectic maximalist interior.

Excellent condition. On the front there is no visible damage, rips, tears or discoloration. On the rear, some stitching has come loose that holds the wood stiffener - does not impact the visual and can easily be repaired. Always hung out of direct sunlight in a humidity-controlled home free of pets and smoke.
