Twenty-four days. One Le Mans legend. Fifty-two pages.
In 1951 a Porsche 356 SL took a class win at Le Mans, and Zuffenhausen has been at the front ever since — Le Mans, the Nürburgring, Daytona, and the roughest rally stages there are.
The car in this box is the one that changed the arithmetic. The
911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1
was Porsche's first turbocharged 911, and the turbo took it from around 300 horsepower to over 460. At Le Mans in 1974 car number 22, driven by Herbert Müller and Gijs van Lennep,
finished second overall
— a lap and a half behind the winning Matra, in a car built as an experiment. That engine went on to become the 936.
This officially licensed advent calendar builds that car one piece at a time. Open a door a day through December and assemble a
1:43 scale model of the Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1
. Parts plug and screw together. No glue, no paint, no modelling experience needed.
The book
Alongside the build runs a
52-page large-format volume
covering Porsche's racing history from 1951 to today. English and German, both in the same volume. It stays on the shelf long after the calendar is empty.
What's behind the 24 doors
- Multi-part
die-cast and plastic model kit
of the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1 in
1:43 scale
- A dynamic
presentation base with a built-in sound module
— press the button and the turbocharged flat-six plays
- The
52-page large-format book
, in English and German
- Two fold-out panoramic backdrops
, so the finished car sits in a scene rather than against a wall
- An
A2-size poster
and a set of
postcards
, ready to frame
- Every screw, plus the screwdriver and a cleaning cloth, sorted by day
- And a handful of extras FRANZIS leaves off the box on purpose. They're meant to be surprises, so we won't spoil them
The build
Each door holds one numbered stage. Ten to fifteen minutes of work, then the model goes back on the shelf until tomorrow. By Christmas Eve the RSR Turbo sits finished on its base at…
