About this product
Tool/gauge used to measure distance from underside of string to keybed. This is an important measurement to know when regulating a piano action on the workbench. Different pianos (even similar pianos with different setups) will have different measurements. Also very important to know when replacing a pinblock so everything is returned to its original height with the new block installed.
Tech Tip: If you're determining the best regulation setup for your piano, try regulating just five notes, start to finish. If you like that particular setup, then you can do the rest of the notes. If you don't and want to try something different, you've only spent the time on those 5 notes and can tweak them until you find the setup you like. There’s not many things more disappointing in piano work than to finish regulating a piano only to discover you wish you had used a slightly different setup.
