Grateful Dead Dancing Skeleton Pendant With Top Hat, Cane ©GDM Sterling Silver

Iconic Grateful Dead Pendant the Dancing Skeleton With Top Hat and Cane. Put in on cord or small diameter chain and enjoy the smiles you get.

This solid sterling silver pendant was carved and cast expressly for Jerry (and the boys) in 1992 by a talented jewelry designer in Boulder, Colorado. It has on back an official GDM copyright label. The skeleton 'idea' was originally created in 1977 by Rick Griffin.

This is collectable, wearable artwork and will be a subtle statement of joy--even through grief. You will see with delight details the carving shows like individual fingers holding the cane.

Wearing this pendant will be recognizable as one who appreciates the talented music of the now aging Grateful Dead. Pendant can be as casual or daringly formal as you'd like! (If you're shy, tuck it inside your shirt.)

According to internet lore: "The iconic Grateful Dead dancing skeletons (often depicted with top hats) were created by psychedelic artist Rick Griffin to capture the visual rhythm of the band's improvisational music. They made their first appearance on the inside gatefold of the 1977 greatest hits compilation album What a Long Strange Trip It's Been."

Also, "The dancing skeletons quickly became a staple of the band's merchandise and "Deadhead" culture, celebrating the sublime paradox of death and joyful celebration."

My little dancing skeleton "captures a celebration of life, blending the paradox of mortality with joyful, carefree movement. This iconic imagery reflects the band's psychedelic ethos and the vibrant spirit of living fully in the present."
