Green White Heart Venetian Trade Beads

Beautiful strand of Green White Heart Venetian Trade Beads featuring rich green outer layers surrounding a distinctive white core. These classic trade beads display slight variations in shape, size, and coloration, reflecting their handcrafted origins and historic character.

White Heart beads originated in Venice, Italy, where skilled glassmakers developed a technique of layering colored glass over a white inner core. Their striking contrast and durability made them highly sought after in trade networks around the world.

Trade beads, often made of glass, played a significant role in historical trade between Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. More than decorative objects, they served as currency, symbols of status, and carriers of cultural stories. Produced primarily in Europe, these beads became especially valued in Africa, where they were exchanged for goods and resources, helping to connect diverse cultures through centuries of global trade and exchange.

Today, Green White Heart Venetian Trade Beads are prized by collectors, historians, and jewelry makers for their vibrant appearance, historical significance, and the fascinating stories they tell about the movement of people, goods, and ideas across continents. As handmade glass beads, each strand may exhibit natural variations that enhance its unique character and appeal.
