This book provides a detailed account of the IHC rifle production on a month-by-month basis and includes the serial number ranges produced that month, IHC internal memos, production correspondence letters with Ordnance, and high-quality images of actual rifles assembled that month.
It also covers the famous Line Material (LMR) barrel production, and details the plant machinery with period photos of barrels on the assembly line.
And it also covers the Overton M1 Garand stock and Richardson handguard production (with photos) which were produced for the rifle. There is also a section devoted to explaining those strange letter codes and numbers in the stock channels, with accompanying high-quality photos.
Here are some details about the book:
- Hardbound, weight is 3 pounds 8 ounces
- 480 pages in full color
- 530 captioned images
- High-quality photos of IHC rifles produced during every month of the contract
- Monthly born-on serial number table
- 56-page table containing 1,898 serial numbers/barrel dates/stock channel numbers
- Explanation of the IHC receiver logo variations and serial numbers
- 164 custom-designed data sheets on original IHC rifles
This book is a product of 22 years of meticulous research on the IHC rifle and it will answer all of your questions about the rifle, like:
- Why did IHC bid for the contract?
- Why did they have such a hard time making this rifle?
- What are the stock channel numbers?
- What are the IHC letter codes and why were they established?
- How original is my rifle?
- When was my rifle made?
The book is not one of the cheap cut-and-paste books on the market now! As a matter of fact, 99.9% of the photos and data in this book have never been published before.
Are you a data junkie? The combined tables in the book contain an incredible 20,000 bits of data on the IHC M1 rifle!
Whether you want to check the originality of your rifle - or research original IHC rifle data before spending those big bucks on a purported original…
