The West Point Philatelic PACK RAT BOX Is Back!
If you love neat, organized collections of pristine stamps, carefully identified and arranged in perfect order, this is probably not the box for you.
If you love sitting down with 6–8 pounds of philatelic hodgepodge and wondering what in the world you're going to find next, welcome to the Pack Rat Box.
Each Pack Rat Box is approximately 13" × 19" × 6" and is filled with the bulky, interesting, miscellaneous philatelic material that accumulates as West Point Philatelic works through large stamp collections for our individual eBay listings.
What's in a Pack Rat Box?
Depending upon the particular box, you may encounter things such as:
- Mint and used stamps
- Worldwide and U.S. material
- Covers and postal history
- Postcards
- Cinderella stamps and labels
- Stamp collecting supplies
- Dealer material and old dealer stock
- Literature, catalogs and philatelic publications
- Approval books and approval packets
- Album pages
- Parts of albums—or occasionally complete albums
- Assortments, accumulations and miscellaneous philatelic odds and ends
Not every box contains every type of material listed above. Every Pack Rat Box is different.
Why We Make Pack Rat Boxes
We purchase and sort large stamp collections. The material best suited to individual eBay listings gets pulled out and listed separately.
But stamp collections contain an enormous amount of other material—bulky albums, common stamps, covers, old approval books, postcards, supplies, duplicates, literature and miscellaneous philatelic stuff that is simply too interesting to throw away and too time-consuming to list piece by piece.
That's what becomes a Pack Rat Box.
We aren't promising hidden rarities. We aren't promising a certain catalog value. And we definitely aren't promising 6–8 pounds of pristine stamps.
We're promising a big box of philatelic stuff to dig through.
