Paul Brown Football H.O.F. Coach , two Type 1 Photos 1940 and 1955

There’s football coach Paul Brown photos here and there but here’s one of the best , an incredibly rare 9 “ x 7” early type one photo of pro football Hall of Fame coach Paul Brown in 1940 . He was one of the inventors of the modern game of football and cofounder and namesake of the Cleveland Browns.

1940 was the last year he was the head football coach at Massillon Washington high school in Massillon , Ohio. The team that year is considered the greatest high school football team of all time in the United States . During the 1940 fairytale season they out scored their opponents 477-6 and were National high school football champions. The 6 points they gave up were in the state championship game against powerhouse Canton McKinley high school where Massillon won 34 -6 . They also played Kent State University in a scrimmage that year and beat them 47-0. After the 1940 season Paul Brown went on and became the head football coach at Ohio State University, and after OSU the rest is football history in the lores of Professional Football. This photo is a true rarity in this football legends H.O.F life and in the hobby.

Also included as a bonus is a very nice type 1 9”x7” photo from 1955 when Brown was at the helm of the Cleveland Browns , his namesake. Only 3 known original type 1 photos of this image in existence. One like this sold several years ago for $575.00 at auction
