This listing is for a Scarce Antique Aqua Glass Beer Bottle Embossed "EXCELSIOR LAGER BIER/I.SCHEIER/PLATTSBURGH, NY" Side embossing reads "THIS BOTTLE NEVER SOLD." Base is embossed "MADE BY DEAN, FOSTER & CO., BOSTON." This bottle measures approximately 9.25" tall with 2.78" diameter base. Early aqua glass bottle with applied blob-style top, attractive age-related iridescence and strong Plattsburgh, NY regional interest.
Condition: Antique as-found condition with haze/cloudiness, iridescence, staining/soil residue, scratches and surface wear consistent with age. The blob top has noticeable surface flaking/chipping and residue, particularly around the lower edge. No large body cracks or major body chips observed. Enlarge and examine all photographs, particularly the detailed photographs of the mouth and lip, as they are an important part of the condition description. Please ask any questions before buying.
