Vintage 1950s Blue Wicker Doll Carriage Pram Spoked Wheels Hood w/ Bedding

Charming vintage circa 1950s child-size doll carriage/pram featuring a blue woven wicker-style body, large folding hood, black painted steel frame and four cream-colored wire-spoke wheels with black tires.

The carriage measures approximately 23" high with the hood raised, as shown in the photos. It has a formed metal body beneath the woven exterior, steel chassis, long metal push handle with black hand grip, curved suspension-style frame and four spoked wheels. The hood folds and gives the carriage the classic mid-century baby-pram appearance.

Construction and styling are consistent with postwar doll carriages of approximately the 1950s to early 1960s. No manufacturer's mark has been located, so the maker is unknown. Similar period carriages were produced by several American manufacturers; no specific manufacturer is being attributed to this example.

Also included is the vintage bedding that accompanied the carriage when acquired. The set includes two stuffed mattress/pads, a small blue striped pillow and several white fabric covers/slips. The linens include attractive vintage details such as white-on-white floral embroidery and lace/crochet edging. The stuffed pieces appear to contain feather/down filling, although the filling has not been verified.

The bedding appears to have considerable age and complements the blue carriage particularly well. It may be period or handmade bedding made specifically for use with the carriage; however, its age and originality to the carriage cannot be confirmed.

The carriage remains in good vintage condition and displays beautifully. Expect authentic age-related wear including paint loss and scuffing to the woven hood/body, finish wear and some oxidation on metal components, and discoloration/wear to the wheels. The vintage linens also have age-related discoloration, spots and wear. These characteristics have been left as found rather than restored.
