Vintage Chinese Cloisonne Enameled Brass Vase 10"H x 4.5"Diameter. This is an exquisite, highly intricately hand-cloisonne, hand-enameled, baluster form brass vase.
Item Details & Attribution
- Item Type: Baluster-form flower vase with a flared neck and a gilt rim and foot. It features vibrant polychrome enameling depicting peonies and secondary floral blossoms over a dark teal or green cloud-scroll wirework ground.
- Age: Mid-to-late 20th century (circa 1960s–1980s), commonly referred to as the Republic or late Communist period.
- Origin: China (specifically Beijing region workshops, the historical hub of Jingtailan/Chinese cloisonné production).
- Material Signifiers: The bright turquoise-blue enamel counter-enameling on the base (the under-glaze inside the bottom rim) and the thick wires are classic signatures of post-war Chinese export metalwork.
