This is an authentic original 1950’s mail order shrunken Head from the E. JOSEPH COSSMAN CO. in its original box! Extremely RARE! I have only seen one other available in my internet searches.
Box reads: This Shrunken Head Mfd. by E. Joseph Cossman Co. 7015 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood 28, Calif.
History: E. Joseph Cossman was an American investor, businessman and entrepreneur who co-created popular novelty toys like the any farm and spud gun. The 'Shrunken Head' was a novelty item that became a bestseller for Cossman after he noticed a competitor selling them successfully at a trade show. An ad from the 1960's (Photo of ad in listing photos, a copy will be printed and included with purchase) described it as "The Most Genuine Looking Shrunken Head Ever Made!" Cossman and his brother-in-law Milton Levine, founded E. Joseph Cossman & Co in 1946 to sell novelty items by mail order.
Most of my items are vintage, retro or antique. I collect and love all things nostalgic and appreciate the simpler times of those eras.
I have taken a handful of pictures of the actual item, so please inspect those images for its condition and message me for any questions prior to purchasing!
The photos are part of the description. I do my absolute best to inspect each item and report any flaws noted.
Please feel confident that your item is shipped with care using bubble wrap and various protective materials.
