Vintage German Felt Covered Hunting Flask Canteen DRGM Made in Germany

Wonderful vintage German field / hunting flask with its original thick felt covering, metal bottle body, screw cap, and retaining hardware.

The metal neck is clearly stamped “MADE IN GERMANY,” while the small hardware fitting appears to carry a D.R.G.M. marking, indicating a German registered design from the pre-1945 period. The utilitarian construction, wool-felt insulation, and compact oval form are characteristic of early 20th-century European hunting, hiking, and outdoor equipment.

The flask has a great untouched look, with mottled natural felt, aged metal fittings, and plenty of authentic period character. A particularly nice piece for a German outdoor-equipment collection, sporting display, militaria-adjacent collection, or rustic lodge décor.

Some vintage pieces whisper “old hiking trip.” This one looks like it has stories involving wool coats, cold mornings, and somebody absolutely refusing to pack light.
