The is a Starrett Series 271 Precision V-Blocks and Clamps set, highly precise workholding tools used by machinists for general shop use, layout work, or light milling, drilling, and grinding. PLEASE NOTE THIS SET IS MISSING one V BLOCK and the STEEL ROD.

• 4-Way Vees: The blocks feature precision-ground 90° vees on both the top and bottom sides, which are meticulously engineered to be central, parallel, and square to the ends and outer faces.
• Dual Side Grooves: Two recessed tracking grooves run along each side of the blocks, allowing the clamps to slide securely into position to grip both small and larger cylindrical parts effectively.
• Tapped Holes: Features a 1/4-20 tapped hole running through the sides, allowing you to fasten the block securely to an angle iron, lathe faceplate, or magnetic chuck.
• Alignment Rod System: Standard factory sets originally include a 6-inch steel rod that passes horizontally through the friction bushings in the core of the blocks. This locks a pair of blocks into exact parallel alignment when mounting long or shouldered shafts.
• Numbered Pairs: Authenticated factory sets are numbered in series on their sides to indicate they are a precision-matched pair.
