Vintage Thai Thepanom Teppanom Guardian Statue Gilt Metal Buddhist Figure

Vintage Thai Thepanom / Teppanom Guardian Figure

Decorative vintage Thai guardian figure depicting a kneeling Thepanom, or Teppanom, with hands held together in the traditional wai gesture.

The figure features an elaborate pointed headdress, detailed costume and jewelry, and a striking combination of aged green patina with gold-colored gilt decoration. The worn surface gives the piece a beautifully aged, collected appearance.

Thepanom figures are celestial beings commonly represented in traditional Thai decorative and religious art. This example likely dates to the mid-to-late 20th century, approximately the 1970s.

A distinctive small sculpture for a collected interior, bookshelf, display cabinet, global décor collection, or grouping of Asian decorative objects.
