Vintage Thalhimers Shopping Plate / Charge Card – Defunct Department Store
Original vintage Thalhimers shopping plate issued to Mr. Nathan A. Pace Jr. of Knightdale, North Carolina.
Thalhimers was a historic American department store chain with a long presence in the Southern United States. The Thalhimers name ultimately disappeared from retail, making surviving branded items interesting pieces of regional department-store and American retail history.
The front features the classic script “Thalhimers” logo along with the cardholder’s embossed information.
The reverse features the large Thalhimers – The Fashion Stores logo and original printed terms identifying the item as a “shopping plate” intended to be honored at Thalhimers stores.
This is an appealing collectible for enthusiasts of:
- Thalhimers memorabilia
- defunct department stores
- vintage charge and shopping cards
- American retail history
- Southern retail memorabilia
- North Carolina memorabilia
- vintage advertising and ephemera
CONDITION:
Original pre-owned vintage condition. Shows visible age and use-related wear including surface scratches, scuffs, discoloration/soiling, marks, and wear along the edges and corners. Embossed information remains visible. No attempt has been made to clean, polish, restore, or alter the card.
Please enlarge and carefully examine all photographs for exact condition, markings, lettering and details. Photos are considered part of the description.
IMPORTANT:
This is an obsolete vintage collectible offered solely as historical/advertising memorabilia. It is not being represented as valid for purchases, credit, identification, or any financial use.
You will receive the exact vintage Thalhimers shopping plate shown in the photographs.
