Why This Is Collectible: Collectors of Wichita history and banking memorabilia value the full-name blocks more than the later "Bank IV" versions because they represent the original local ownership.
In the 1940s and 50s, high-end banks wanted their printing plates to resist "zinc pest" (white corrosion). The yellow coating kept the plate crisp for thousands of impressions of official bank checks and bonds.
