A beautiful William Bradford Green seascape in watercolor by this listed and well known artist. (Signature to lower right.) Bradford Green was born in NY in 1871. He was known for his watercolors—seascapes in particular—throughout NY and Connecticut. Bradford Green moved to Connecticut as an adult, and lived there until his death in 1945.
Subject is a classic seascape with a touch of drama. We see two rock outcroppings which are hit by a swell causing whitewater and foam to fly. Bradford Green wonderfully captures the scene with confidence and an expert hand.
Artwork is on paper, and measures 17.75 x 21.25”. The artwork is in great shape with no conditions to note.
The artwork is housed in a thin wooden frame. There are no real conditions to note with the frame; however, artwork does not fit snugly in frame and there is a roughly 1/4” gap on top and bottom where the artwork does not reach all the way to frame’s edge. This could be easily remedied through use of a mat. Any framer can assist with this for a reasonable fee. Alternatively, buyer may wish to house artwork in a classic plein air frame—a good choice that will compliment artwork and elevate considerably.
A NOTE ON GLASS: Glass breaks far too easily in transport. Many sellers remove glass prior to shipping so they do not disappoint the owner when the piece arrives broken. I do not want all of my buyers to have to run out and purchase glass for their new piece; however, please know that glass is not a part of this transaction. GLASS IN ARTWORK IS DONATED. Buyer does not purchase glass as part of the purchase price of this work. If you would like me to remove the glass prior to shipping, please let me know. Otherwise, I tape all glass so that in the event of breakage, it does not break into small pieces that can damage the artwork. Thank you for your understanding.
SHIPPING PLEASE NOTE: Due to the unique nature and size of each work of art, I am unable to ship next day. I source boxes for each piece, or…
