Up for sale is this 1960s Captain Astro 6.5” Mechanical Wind-Up Toy by Mego (Japan). Often cataloged as "Captain Astro Space Man Robot", this classic Space Age toy is in good working condition per the video provided in the 2nd image. Instead of a generic robot face, the helmet window reveals the painted face of a human space pilot wearing a communication headset and space suit. The arms, head visor, and large stepping feet are molded plastic, while the front torso features colorful tin lithography depicting radar meters, space shuttles, and lunar craters. The body tooling shares direct design lineage with other Japanese mechanical space walkers of that era, notably the Apollo 2000-X by Hiro and Captain Robot by MTU.
