Complete custom space equipment accessory set for Major Matt Mason, inspired by the iconic EVA spacesuits seen in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
This set was designed to give a Matt Mason figure the distinctive appearance of the astronauts aboard Discovery, while maintaining the classic proportions and character of the original figure.
THE SET INCLUDES:
- Yellow Space Helmet with visor
- Detailed Memory Packs on the rear of the helmet
- Front Chest Life-Support Unit / Chest Box
- Rear Life-Support Backpack
- Clear flexible oxygen hose
- Oxygen connector attachment, allowing the hose to be connected to either the front chest unit or the rear life-support backpack
- Black waist mounting strap
The helmet features the distinctive rounded design, wide visor and rear memory-pack details inspired by the equipment seen in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The front chest unit includes raised controls, instrumentation and equipment details, while the much larger rear life-support backpack includes multiple equipment modules, connectors and control details.
A flexible clear oxygen hose connects to the helmet. Using the included connector attachment, the collector can choose to route the oxygen hose to either the front life-support unit or the rear backpack, providing two different display configurations.
The equipment is designed specifically to fit a Major Matt Mason figure and can be removed for display.
An excellent accessory set for collectors who enjoy combining the classic 1960s Major Matt Mason universe with the realistic space-age design of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
PLEASE NOTE: Major Matt Mason figure and display stand shown in the photos are NOT included. This listing is for the helmet and life-support/oxygen equipment accessory set only.
Custom-made reproduction/fantasy accessory. Not an original Mattel or MGM production item.
