About this product
Brass gimbaled nautical compass mounted on a round wooden display base.
The compass features a traditional nautical dial marked "C. Plath Hamburg." Made in India, this is a decorative reproduction styled after vintage marine navigation instruments.
The dual-axis gimbal mechanism allows the compass chamber to remain relatively level when the base is tilted or moved.
Working Condition: The compass has been tested and points north as expected. Professional navigational accuracy has not been verified.
Measurements:
- Overall height: 5.5 inches
- Wooden base diameter: 4 inches
- Weight: 1 lb 1 oz (unpacked)
The underside retains its original Made in India barcode sticker.
Nice decorative piece for a desk, bookshelf, office, or nautical collection.
